What is an eBook?

Our (and the industry standard) definition of an eBook is a PDF file. PDFs (Portable Document Format) are print ready, platform independent files that can be viewed using a free reader provided by Adobe. Some people provide .EXE files and call them eBooks but these files can (and often do) contain malicious code (Adware, Spyware, Viruses) that can affect your computer system.

PDF is the safest format for eBooks and I'd be wary of opening anything other than a .PDF unless you know the people providing it very well.

It's very unlikely that your computer won't have software already installed that can read PDF files but if you're having trouble viewing your eBook you should install the latest FREE reader file here... http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html

Finally - here are some reasons why smart people love eBooks...

When do I get my eBook?

If you pay for your eBook using Nochex or Paypal access to it is immediate upon successful payment. You'll be able to see the book title and a button with the word "download" on it when your order is completed.

Clicking the "download" button will open your file (PDF) on screen which you can then save by clicking: "File" --> "Save As..."

If you buy using a payment system that requires confirmation (eg bank transfer) then your books will be made available as soon as payment is confirmed. You'll be notified by email when your book has been delivered. You can then visit the website within 7 days, click the "My BookShaker" link at the top of the page to login and "view" your order to download it.

Please note - you need to download your eBook within 7 days of delivery or else your link will expire. Plus if you lose your eBook you get 5 opportunities to download it again.

How do I remove items from my cart?

To remove an item from your shopping cart: To remove an item from your shopping cart: 1. Login 2. Click the "cart contents" link 3. Select the checkbox under the heading "remove" next to the item you wish to remove 4. Click the button marked "Update Cart"

How do I write a book review?

You need to be a registered user and you need to be logged in to submit a review. Then simply find the product you wish to review. If you bought it at BookShaker.com then you can do this easily from the "My BookShaker" page. Once you find the product you wish to review you have 2 options: 1) You'll notice that there is a button with the word "reviews" on it. Click this to see existing reviews. Then click "Write A Review" 2) Click the "Write A Review" - pencil icon in the right hand margin. You should keep the content of your review to the subject of the book, not the author and you are permitted to include a website address with your name.
