Why Develop the Art of Asking Questions to Bring About Positive Change?

I’m writing this in the run-up to this year’s Good Question Day, this Wednesday October 10th. People who buy ‘Good Question! The Art of Asking Questions to Bring About Positive Change’ as a paperback on the 10th receive over £1,200 worth of e-books and e-courses, teleseminars, audio downloads and site memberships, mostly with a wealth theme this year.  Bookshaker authors Debbie Jenkins, Joe Gregory, Steve Halls, Tony Burgess, Julie French, Peter Stanley, Nicola Cairncross and Jackie Headland have contributed either to Good Question! or gifts to the Good Question Day campaign and in many cases to both!

What sparked me writing the book was noticing how often clients exclaim ‘Good Question!’. It’s often after a question that enabled them to stop and reflect. They acknowledge that the question was good and continue speaking in a different vein, often with a changed pace and tone of voice. These can be profound moments in coaching and in helpful conversations, when people are connecting more accurately and deeply with the essence of who they are and what they are doing.I imagine you’ll be reading this with recognition. Asking questions is at the heart of what we do as coaches and in life generally. Learning more questions, + being reminded of the good ones, extends how creative we can be in conversations and meetings.

I created Good Question! as a toolbook where you can easily find tools. It brings together questions from 28 coaches, writers, speakers and seminar leaders. It’s a treasure chest and a ready reference guide and I’m still enthusiastic and sparkling about it after it’s been in print for nearly two years. It reached number one in Amazon’s Mind, Body and Spirit list last year.

Good Question! is for coaches and non-coaches alike and, running right through it like the letters in a stick of seaside rock, is a thread of creating positive change. My vision is that people will find it in airport bookshops and happily get engrossed in chapters on the plane! Why? Because we all have so much to do to improve life in the 21st century and my firmly held conviction is that coaching and personal/professional/business development generally have crucial roles to play in the many positive changes that are becoming possible. So far itr has reached people in at vleast fifteen countries*. Good Question! is my contribution to life on a bigger scale.

Reasons you might like to buy Good Question!

·         To extend your repertoire of good questions, stories and personal development activities.

·         To enjoy as a good read (Better than Jackie Collins according to Carmen MacDoughall!).

·         To find out what fellow coaches and others in personal, professional development do.

·         To give to friends and clients (and it’s magic working with people who have already read Good Question!)

·         To show anyone who doubts the depth, breadth and validity of coaching and personal/business development generally.

Reasons you might like to pass the message on to people on your lists and in your circles:

 ·         To help build Bookshaker ;-)

·         To support us contributors to the book and the gift collection - especially us Bookshaker authors!- in marketing our goods and services.

·         To bring all that is offered in the book and the gifts to more people who will benefit from what they can learn and who in turn will contribute to others.

 Warmest wishes from Judy
