Hi there.
I'm the author of Starting a Business in Italy: how to set up and run a successful business in the Bel Paese and the co-director of HowToItaly.
I live in my very own corner of paradise on the north coast of Sardinia. Summer lasts six months of the year and when I'm not working, I'm swimming in the sea, drinking frothy cappuccinos or drinking local wine in cheap but fantastic restaurants nearby.
I'm currently working on my next two books.

I am a serial reinventor of myself: a secondary school teacher of English, playwright, retreat house leader, mother and small business person. In terms of life experience I am an expert on endings and new beginnings. 3 years ago I moved from the city of Glasgow to the island of Bute in the Clyde estuary. My business WORDS in ACTION founded in 1997, provides coaching, training and facilitation. I have been working for many years now in the field of personal and team development.
I'm just finding my way round this new development so will be adding more. Check in again later!

After spending 15 years working for someone else, I decided to become a borrower rather than a lender and build my own property empire.
I had thought that the lure of the pension scheme and regular paycheck would be too hard to resist and planned to take a year out to build my empire then return to the corporate fold.
Three years and over 60 properties down the line,(not all for me), my life in the corporate world is a dim and distant memory, almost like a former life.
