I am a freelance journalist and writer, and have been living in northern Spain with my wife and two young children since 2003. After receiving countless comments from people keen to follow our example, but who for one reason or another never quite managed to make the jump, I decided to do something to help. The upshot is "Should I Stay Or Should I Go? The Truth About Moving Abroad And Whether It's Right For You," an e-book guide for people seeking advice on whether or not to move overseas. It aims to help readers clarify their thoughts and feelings about what living abroad would really mean for them, and to give them that extra impetus to pursue the life of their dreams, wherever that may turn out to be. I am a full-time freelance journalist, striving to be a full-time published author! As such, interests include writing and reading. Whenever I get the opportunity (rare these days with two young children!) I also enjoy various sports, especially golf, football and tennis.
I am a professional business and consumer writer and author, with 16 published books and literally thousands of business and marketing projects completed for some of the largest and smallest companies in the world. In effect I help people and organisations get better results from their writing by coaching, editing or ghostwriting the project for them. I work across all media from entire books to documents, brochures, ads, press releases, articles, audio and video scripts, plus live speeches and presentations.

I am passionate about life and becoming the best I can be (in terms of the depth and richness of my life experiences and any challenges I set for myself along the journey) and helping others achieve the same. I enjoy the fact that there is always more to learn and there are always ways of helping people even better - life is such an exciting journey of discovery! I make a point of surrounding myself with other positive, warm, exciting people - I find it contageous.
I love personal development and have made it my career. I also love reading, my heart leaps for joy when I go on walks in the countryside, I enjoy travel and exploration, I love good veggie food, good wine, good company. I adore spending time with my daughter Sophie who is a constant source of inspiration to me - aren't youngsters so very much 'in the moment' !!! They are so honest and expressive - whether Sophie has just woken up with sheer delight that it is a brand new day or screaming like crazy because she is hungry, it is raw and it is honest - no masks, no pretense at all at her age! Wouldn't it be wonderful if everyone kept that sense of wonder, adventure, honesty and tendency to be 'in the moment' all the way through their lives! And isn't life so 'real' when we are living like that!
I believe that success in life starts on the inside - by knowing that you have choice about what you experience, by sending and receiving tons of love, by having loads of gratitude, by paying attention moment by moment, by communicating with self and others effectively, by knowing your magnificent self-worth, by expecting the best, and by connecting with people with positive intention and with a 'can help, can do' attitude. The pinnacle of success in my opinion is living openly and freely as your true magnificent self with certainty that you are perfect in your imperfection.
I have a belief that making the choice to have an amazing life is the best decision anyone can make.
A successful coach, trainer, entrepreneur, speaker and author. I'm passionate about helping people to achieve the levels of success and happiness they aspire to. I also lead annual retreats to South Africa for people who want to reconnect to the important things and people in their lives. A life long student of the art of the possible. A dream catcher and somewhat nomadic. I would love to live in a motor caravan, travel the world and earn my living by speaking, writing books and articles.

My life purpose is to 'share what I know to help others to grow' and I have been doing just this through my writing (books and articles), teaching, keynote speaking and consultancy for about 20 years, I guess. I 'know' about writing, publishing and running a portable business based on what I love to do. You see, I am married to a man who works in the oil industry and we have been overseas (now in our fifth country) since the day after we got married in 1987. Luckily, my passion for writing has become the perfect portable career, or 'career in my suitcase'. I am an expat entrepreneur. All my books have grown out of something I have done for myself - networking, finding my passion, being an entrepreneur and of course, writing.
My clients, friends and readers say I am both inspiring and empowering. That is what I hope to achieve in everything I do.
I now live in The Hague, with Ian and our boys, Sam (16) and Josh (14), a cat (Lily) and about six electric guitars, a drum kit, piano, PA system and a huge poster of the crowd at a Metallica concert on the wall! Like me, the men in my life know what they love to do too!

Broke and homeless at the age of 28...David used the principles in his book 'The Soul Millionaire' to turn his life around. From the depths of despair he rose to become a master of his craft as a Financial Planner, creating revenue streams enjoyed by only the top 1% of his profession in the UK.
Now, through his company The Soul Millionaire Ltd, he is engaged to coach and train entrepreneurs, professional advisers and corporate executives, to create 'Purpose Driven Businesses'. He also travels internationally as a Professional Speaker for conferences, conventions, seminars and workshops.
Yet, it is in his role as a work-in-progress husband and father of four children where he sees his greatest adventure of all!

At heart I'm a teacher.
I love sharing life-changing principles with entrepreneurs and business executives.
Most of all, I love teaching life-building principles to bright, feisty Youth, who instinctively still have the guts to ask "What's it all about?"
In an increasingly secular, politically correct society, I love letting people know that I centre my life on my relationship with God.
I'm passionate about speaking to large groups and seeing the 'lights go on'.
I run and swim to think more creatively.
I love conversation which 'goes deep'.
I love dancing as I did when I was 17, and pretending I can swim underwater.
I relish my children's delight when they know they're fulfilling their potential.
I love stories read by my 12 year old.
I get excited when I can almost sing.
I love England in the Spring, and the pounding of the sea.
I adore sea food, Mum's jamaican cooking, english pies and Green and Black's chocolate ice cream.
I love escaping the madness of television and feeling the serenity of nature.
I love the wind around me when I'm climbing hills.
I believe in coaching as a means to effect powerful change. This has led me to debate and advocate many aspects of coaching. I have appeared on BBC Radio Stoke, Merseyside and Manchester for interviews and phone-in coaching, and wrote a regular newspaper coaching column for over three years.
My Executive Coaching practice is just about to enter its 8th year. In 2006 by combining my learning from coaching leaders in organisations www.thedirectorscoach.com with educational input from Jack Stewart, I co-authored my first book - ‘The Coaching Parent’, www.thecoachingparent.com
This meant the creation of an accessible, readily available approach to help adults provide younger members of society with a means to realise their talents. Previously workshops had proven time consuming, reaching relatively small numbers. Now through the Internet, this work is available in many countries including France, Spain, Italy, Sweden, Germany, Japan and the United States of America. That means a lot to me, as my aim is to make a difference with this work in as many parts of the world as possible.
I am married to Laura, have two daughters, Nicole and Anne-Marie, and three grandchildren, Marcus, Aiden and Annika.

I enjoy cycling, juggling and football (member at Manchester United). Travel, culture and food are also passions. My family keep me grounded! I intend to travel to every continent during my lifetime and am well on the way to date.
