Super Hero
SUPER HERO!
As the country is currently caught up in the hype of the latest Spiderman movie, each one of us has the latent potential to be our own super hero. But wait; before you go looking for that Lycra suit in the wardrobe we can also be our own arch-enemy too! Diametrically opposed to each other, these two forces are the basic fight inside us all - light versus dark, good versus evil.
Let’s take a moment here to reflect on the truth that lies buried deep inside
the tagline for movie Spiderman 3 – “The greatest battle lies within …”
We all have the tendency to be our worst “arch-enemy”. The constant barrage of negative talk that goes on inside us is relentless, even while we sleep, self doubts and fears invade us.This is the most poisonous venom known to man (or woman). But wait, like in all good stories there is an antidote… for this we need to shift our attention from the spider to its web.
You can’t help but notice the intricate design, the strength and the beauty as the morning sunlight reflects on the dew captured on its delicate strands.
The winds may blow but this structure is flexible and will survive.
Now let’s apply this to us, after all what is the good of knowledge without application.
Take a moment to be selfish …. I, me, myself … SELF … the next three words are all to be prefixed with the word “SELF”.
Worth - How much value do you place on you and knowing your life’s purpose?
Esteem - Not a word we use very often is it? Consider these words then: -
respect, admiration, high regard, good opinion
Belief - We all have plenty self doubts. If you were to answer honestly,
How is your self-belief – right now?
You are worth far more than you can ever imagine. Do you know that you are here to do something with your life and that there is no other person on this planet has all the skills, knowledge and experiences that you have. You are
equiped to successfully complete the task(s). Do you know what your life’s purpose is?
Once you know your purpose, that’s the strength behind the rest of your web’s structure. Self-respect, high regard, good opinion and yes, admiration. If you don’t like (love) yourself, how can you expect other to?
Finally, the web is completed when your self-belief is woven through your worth and esteem. The strong winds of life will blow but your web will make sure you are flexible and you will have a more peaceful life. By now you know I love quotes, so let me finish off my ramblings with three short ones. Don’t let their brevity fool you, there is great depths of meaning in their few words, should you choose to explore them.
“The greatest battle lies within” (spiderman 3)
“Seek and you shall find “ (scripture)
“The treasure is within you” (Seriously, are you taking the peace?)
Now where did I put that Lycra suit - “PeaceMan” is ready to go try out his newly found WEB!
