How Safe is Property in a World Recession?

In the seminars I regularly give on Polish Property one of the most common questions is, "What if property prices crash?".

They do from time to time but my reply is simple, "Where else would you put your money?".

If you want no risk at all put your money in the bank. You will get a low interest rate on your savings but it is one you can rely on.

Polish Property and Real Estate Prices - Quarter 4, 2007

2007 was a turbulent year for Polish property. Vendors in Krakow became over ambitious in their asking prices which lead to large scale decreases in value during the autumn. Warsaw saw the price per square metre of apartments rise 32% before falling back 5% in Quarter three. Gdansk experienced average offer prices rising 15% in the spring but only 4% in the summer. These are to name but a few odd events.

Discovering Poland

We all like to travel to a country worse than our own from time to time.We might want to deny it but it makes us feel good. Not conceitedarrogance but a sort of thankfulness that we got a birthplace a littlemore fortunate than someone else’s.

So when I set off to visit Poland for the first time I did not expect to finda country so impressive that I would be making plans to move therewithin 48 hours of arrival.
