Rules of the game

We all know some rules are meant to be broken, but in this case, we’ve set out a few guidelines that will ensure the BookShaker site remains enjoyable and profitable for all its members. Please do your best to play fair and report any abuse.

Failure to play by these rules may result in your account being terminated with immediate effect but in most cases, if we think you made a genuine mistake, we’ll give you a chance to get back on track before taking drastic action. However, the BookShaker team shall be the sole arbitrator of what does and what does not violate these rules and reserves the right to remove/edit content and ban anyone without warning or explanation.

Zero Tolerance Rules

Sure ways to get kicked out without warning – our decision is final… 

1. No Spamming. Spam will be deleted as soon as it is found and members abusing forums, comments on blogs/profiles, private messages or any other content types on this site will have their membership revoked immediately.
2. No Abuse. Hateful posts, attacks on other members, abusive language, or defamatory remarks against any individual (whether a member or not) will be deleted and the poster will have their membership terminated with no explanations required.

General Rules

These rules will improve the site for all of us… 

1. Avoid pointless posts. Making meaningless comments, writing one word responses or generally adding content that doesn’t progress a thread, discussion or article in an attempt to get your signature line featured in more places just means people have to wade through more content to find the useful stuff. We reserve the right to delete posts, comments or content that we feel is irrelevant without notice or explanation.
2. Debate and discussion is acceptable but we will not tolerate rudeness, insulting posts, personal attacks or pointless inflammatory posts.
3. Multiple or repeated posting of the same content in order to increase your post count is not allowed and repeated, deliberate reposts constitute spam.
4. Using comments, forum posts or private messages for advertising is not allowed and constitutes spam. Use your signature line and profile for promotion and stick to adding valuable content, as intended, elsewhere.
5. Each member is allowed one login account. Registering with multiple accounts is not allowed.
6. We reserve the right to remove offensive posts (or members) without notice.
7. Membership on this website is a privilege and not a right.

Your user profile photograph should contain a picture of you. Cartoon characters, photographs of people other than yourself, logos, inanimate objects or other meaningless images may be deleted.
