Rambo 4 - A message in the Hype!

Yes, February sees the return of John Rambo to the big screen.
The trailer is on YouTube. Interestingly the trailer includes a very
famous quote which is well worth the 22 seconds it takes to hear
even if you are too busy to see the whole 3mins 30secs clip about
the movie.
( If you want to skip straight to the quote it’s located at 1 min 39 secs of the trailer) .Use the link below to see the clip (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8M1KiXWWTxg )
If not, below are the words - sounds like a good way to start a New
Year – don’t you think?
“Lord, make me your instrument of Peace,
Where there is hatred, let me bring love,
Where there is darkness –light,
For it is with giving that we receive,
It is with pardoning that we are pardoned,
It is dying that we awake to eternal life. “
Finally, for now, below is an extract from my book
(includes a Rambo reference of course!!)
Live in Peace!
Jim
“I stumbled downstairs is a sleepy state, opened the fridge door and grabbed the new six-pint milk container. In my book that’s enough exercise for the triceps and biceps for anyone.
Then I tried to open this miracle of modern science. You would have thought that this should be an easy operation, a plastic bottle with a plastic lid. But, oh no, some sadistic robot in a factory somewhere tightened every one of these stupid containers as tight as robotically possible and then gave it a further quarter twist for luck.
At this point the skin on my thumb and forefinger resembled the knurled thread on the outside of the lid and the top third of the container now looked like a Picasso sculpture of a naked woman’s body!
It was time to get tough – where are the tea towels?
One towel rolled and tied around my head in traditional Rambo style and the other wrapped around my still functioning hand. I sneaked up from behind the bottle and tried again.
Again I was defeated by the robot’s strength. There was nothing to do but to continue the Rambo theme. I drew the largest knife out on the knife block, and, with a swift movement and a hint of October sunlight as it struck the blade, the decapitated lid and part of the container were now lying defeated on the floor. Another stunning victory of man over robot.
Continuing in the same vein now as I was well and truly into the character, within seconds, the cornflakes box lid was lying next to the milk top, both having submitted to the skill and sheer brute force of Rambo. The tea towel was removed from my brow and cast over the items on the floor, and as I walked back upstairs it dutifully absorbed the spilt milk.
