from an inspired reader
I was delighted to hear from Jacqueline Reischel of EnterAsia today. She claims it was my book, Career in Your Suitcase, that inspired her to start an innovative, global, portable career. She wrote:
‘I was inspired by our books many years ago. When my husband was again posted to Asia I was finally realizing I needed a Career in my suitcase to cope with the constant moves around the world. So why not make use of the experience gained from all those relocations. I set up www.entersingapore.info
Six years later and with a steep learning curve, the efforts are paying off and - ironically back in London (!) - I am still managing my company enterAsia Information Services Pte Ltd in true “career in your suitcase style”. So thanks for your inspiration and encouragement! If all goes well in the future, I would have jobs to offer for some desperate expat ladies in Asia. By the way: I employed a number of them for project work and found them almost all on the Internet - an incredible talented lot…
I would have never thought this would happen to me, starting my own company beyond 45 years old and in a foreign country and in a foreign language, then going to China and expand within year three. I have a story to tell!’
I love stories like this! All power to Jacqueline.
She believes in blue sky
