Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Who is BookShaker.com for?
This website was originally designed to help our own published authors promote themselves and their books using the power of social networking while providing their readers with greater access and additional value added information.
However, it also acts as a powerful business network and knowledge base for either a) anyone interested in the various non-fiction topics covered or b) service providers related to specific groups such as wealth, business, coaching and training, publishing and more.
Later in 2007 we plan to allow any author (even those not published by us) or would-be author access to the advanced tools and privileges currently only available to authors published by ourselves.
Q. Can I promote myself, my services and/or my products on this site?
We encourage all members to promote themselves, their services, their websites and their products on their own profile. If you want to connect with other users then polite and respectful use of the private message system and adding people as buddies is also encouraged.
You can also have a signature line with a link to your profile or business included which gives you more visibility as you participate in the forums, post articles, comment on other posts, write a blog and more.
However, blatant disrespect for other users (including sending spam using private messages) or posts containing anything deemed as spam, irrelevant commercial plugs or thinly veiled adverts masquerading as content will be removed and the offending party’s account suspended.
In order to build a site with genuinely useful content and good contacts we appreciate your support in reporting anything that you believe breaks these rules.
Q. What is BookShaker.com?
Although you could say BookShaker.com is a social/business network it will mean many different things to different types of people.
If you’re a non-fiction reader then this could be the place to show support for your favourite author, find out where they’re speaking or doing book signings, read additional content they couldn’t fit in the book, ask their advice and make suggestions.
If you’re in business then you could see this site as a place to promote your products and/or services to a network of educated people with specific interests. By using the groups you can find people to connect with well defined interests such as “wealth”, “coaching” and “property” for instance.
If you’re an author or public speaker then you could use this site to promote your expertise, tell people of upcoming events, find a publisher, promote your books and products, build a fan-base and organise launches.
If you’re a website or ezine publisher then you will find tons of free articles that you may share with your readers or syndicate.
Q. Who runs BookShaker.com?
BookShaker.com is the brainchild of Debbie Jenkins and Joe Gregory who also run the publishing business – Lean Marketing Press. However, although they set this site up they see it as a community project and as such the content and direction it takes is entirely up to you. Debbie and Joe will of course continue to invest in making this site better and better and kicking out any trouble makers ;o)
