Calling anyone interested in expat life
I am so excited! I have been asked to speak not one but three times at the awesome Families in Global Transition conference (www.figt.org) in Houston at the end of March. This is a marvellous conference, a haven for expat souls and an inspiration of feel-good and can-do attitudes for those who work with them.
First I do a pre-conference workshop with my great friend and almost-clone, Robin Pascoe. We’re calling it Expat Spouse 101 and, believe me, it will be different from anything else you have ever experienced.
Then, on the Saturday I am presenting the Give Your Memories a Voice workshop, all about the value of documenting, journaling and preserving your expatriate experience. This comes because I am also co-director of the Outpost Family Archive Centre at Shell (find us on www.globaloutpostservices.com/archivecentre/.
And on the last day I’m the closing plenary speaker over the lunchtime session. And guess what? They just want me to talk about me. I am both gob-smacked and flattered.
So, if you can get to Houston next Spring, be aware that the Early Bird Registration ends in February. So get along to the website now and take a look at the amazing program.
