The Language of flowers and a business model
Submitted by Judy Barber on Thu, 21/06/2007 - 12:40pm.Are you living fully?
Submitted by Judy Barber on Wed, 25/04/2007 - 2:05pm.I was inspired to write this question by reading this quotation from Virginia Satir today:
“I would like all of us to live as fully as we can. The only time I really feel awful is when people have not lived a life that expressed themselves.
They lived with all their “shoulds” and “oughts” and their blaming and placating and all the rest of it, and I think, “How sad”.”
Is this your question?
Submitted by Judy Barber on Mon, 09/04/2007 - 2:05pm.One of the questions Lourdes Callen asks in her chapter in Good Question!
Can I see this without prejudice?
Submitted by Judy Barber on Mon, 26/02/2007 - 2:05pm.I was surfing recently and came across a You-Tube recording of an experiment in which little black American children, they looked about five, were sat one at a time behind a table where there were two almost identical baby dolls that differed only in skin colour. One doll was white and one was black. Each child in turn was asked a series of three questions, which doll would you like? Which is the good doll? Which is the bad doll. Out of about twenty children in the survey about fifteen children wanted the white doll, said the white doll was good and said the black doll was bad.
What strings do you you have to your bow?
Submitted by Judy Barber on Mon, 22/01/2007 - 2:05pm.This is one of those metaphorical expressions that people frequently use without actually conjuring up the original image.Let’s conjure it up! In this case it’s the fine tight strings that together form the bundle that is drawn across the thicker strings on a stringed instrument to create expressive sound.
One’s not enough, just as in life one talent, one field of knowledge, one skill set or one life experience isn’t sufficient for a balanced or developed life/career/business.
When would now be the time to change this?
Submitted by Judy Barber on Tue, 26/12/2006 - 2:05pm.One treat this Christmas has been watching ‘The Secret’ DVD, and I heard this question:

I’ll start with the usual things to say about how the entries were great, it being a difficult choice and any choice is a personal choice - because it’s true! I’ve had a giggle over all of them.

What do you want to do to make the world a better place?
Submitted by Judy Barber on Mon, 11/12/2006 - 2:05pm.I’m asking this because it’s a very important question to ask and obviously a very useful question. It can be a helpful question to ask yourself when aligning your plans and goals for yourself with your values and the bigger picture of life. That’s one reason I’m posting it here.
Carrying a question around.
Submitted by Judy Barber on Wed, 29/11/2006 - 2:05pm.I really appreciate what Lourdes Callen writes in her chapter in ‘Good Question!’. Some questions aren’t ready for an instant answer and they need to be carried with you for a while. For example, when you are making a decision an have choices there might be a choice that seems just right and then another seems better after a few days of ponering, or at least ’sleeping on it’. And with a bit of patience sometimes a quite different answer comes along, because you were holding the question and in a sense waiting for an answer.
