How much can I expect to earn?
We pay affiliates 50% commission on sales of most products featured at BookShaker.com. If you encourage friends and contacts to sign up as affiliates you'll earn 25% from all sales they make too. We're adding new products all the time, so the actual amount of money you can earn will increase as our success grows.
Let's do a conservative break down on how things might work for you as a serious affiliate during your first month or so...
- You start your first week by telling everyone you know to visit BookShaker.com and you make 1 sale a day.
- Let's say an average product costs £10, so that means you earn £35 that week. Not overly inspiring, but then it didn't take much effort did it?
- 5 of the people you recommended decided to join our affiliate programme too and each sell a product a day in their first week. They each make £35 for themselves in your second week - earning you £87.50 from their sales.
- You also increase sales in the second week to 2 a day. So you earn £70 from direct sales and £87.50 from your sub-affiliates. That's £157.50 profit for week 2.
- By week 3 you've recruited an additional 5 sub-affiliates - they earn you £87.50. The affiliates you attracted in your first week also sell 2 books a day in their second week - earning you £175 from them. Your sales increase to a steady 3 per day earning you £105 in direct sales. Total for week 3? £367.50!
- Week 4 sees the introduction of more products and you attract 5 new sub-affiliates. You're now selling 4 products a day earning you £140 in direct sales. The 5 affiliates you attracted in week 1 sell 3 products a day making you £262.50. The 5 affiliates you attracted in week 2 sell 2 products a day making you £175. The affiliates you attracted in week 3 make you £87.50. Total for week 4? £665!
- In your first month, you'll have generated a personal profit of £1,225 from a handful of emails and just 15 sub affiliates. Not bad! And with very little additional effort you may be able to earn the same amount every month. After all, new products are always being added and your original referrals and sales will still be being tracked!
- But being the ambitious person you are you decide to get a small web-page together and run a Google Adwords campaign and reviews of your favourite BookShaker.com books. No, sales to yourself using the affiliate link will not be included in your affiliate commission. Nice try!

Can I earn money by encouraging other affiliates to sign up?
Absolutely! We operate a two tier affiliate system which basically means in addition to earning 50% from your own referrals you'll also earn 25% every time an affiliate introduced by you makes a sale.
You'll be glad to know that the affiliate you recommended also gets their full 50% commission. We personally pay the extra out of our profits to reward you for helping us to reach more people.
So even if you're about to sign up from a recommendation your referrals will still earn you the full 50% commission. You'll also be helping your friend in return by getting involved and earning money for the both of you.

How do you pay your affiliates?
We pay our affiliates using PayPal. It keeps fees low and enables us to pay you in a timely manner and for you to get hold of cash in your own currency - so you keep more of your profits. So if you expect to be paid you'll need to create an account with PayPal as soon as possible. You can add your PayPal details at any time and we'll email you to let you know if we've got some money to send you.

How often do you pay your affiliates?
We pay affiliates every 45 days as soon as they've earned more than £50 in commission. We need to allow 45 days because we offer a 30 day guarantee on all our products. This gives us the time we need to sort things out first. We also that you have a PayPal account set up so we can send you money without charges eating into your profit.

How long do you set affiliate cookies for?
BookShaker.com sets affiliate cookies to last for 22 years - longer than the expected useful lifetime of a computer - so you can be confident you'll get rewarded for recommending our books to your contacts.
In case you were wondering: Cookies are harmless little bits of code that enable BookShaker.com to recognise when a return visitor comes to the site. The benefit of cookies to you as an affiliate is that sales to leads you initially introduce will be attributed to you even if they don't buy directly from your link on their first visit.
